Hi Everyone! We left Washington State on Sept 17 and had an easy drive south. Climbed Cabbage Hill in Oregon with no problem (we've always gone DOWN it) and narrowly escaped a "hitchhiker" in Fruitland, ID . . . The prettiest young tiger cat had been left in the park last June and was available for adoption. She had been fixed and declawed and loved people; when Mike picked her up she turned and put her paws around his neck and hugged him. But while I was making room for her in the truck, he sat her down and she walked away - he said "Get In The Truck" and we were off. Haven't stopped thinking of her, but she had lots of families, was getting fed, had a warm place to sleep, and we just couldn't imagine making her live indoors all the time. Down the road, there are nice places to stop for the night in Ash Springs, NV, and close by in Alamo, NV. We fueled up and stayed at the back of the lot in Alamo and had a nice green pasture out our windows, shopped in their great little grocery area, and that night were entertained by the bats swooping and swirling to catch bugs around the light overhead. (We ARE easily entertained)! We then planned to stop in Quartside, AZ, but at 206 degrees we kept right on going. After driving 10 1/2 hours, 510 miles, we checked into the Hickiwan RV Park behind the casino in Why, AZ, and spend a few days doing nothing. Nothing there, but beautiful sunrizes, sunsets, foothills, bagillion million stars at night . . . It was great, but now we are back in the real world and getting hugs from those Villagers here at FHTV, and waiting to greet each of you as you return to your winter home.
God Bless and Travel Safe
